Wearable Sensor System for Quantitative Assessment of Physical Condition

In recent years, a variety of wearable sensors have been used for professional athletes to improve the performance and to maintain the best physical condition. Those sensors provide physiological and physical information such as heart rate, electrocardiogram, electromyogram, skin impedance, movement, and heat map. However, most previous sensor systems were insufficient to lead to quantitative data analysis. We study a new approach to estimate the muscle fatigue accurately and quantitatively using a wearable sensor and skin electrodes. We also developt a comprehensive and quantitative assessment of physical condition based on electrocardiogram, heart rate, and movement analysis. Our group collaborates on this project with The Korea Sport Industry Development Institute (KSIDI) and The Korea Football Association (KFA).
